U.S. Military Invests with SimCraft to Save Soldiers Lives
Most of the people serving in the U.S. military are young. They ride motorcycles and drive cars. According to the Congressional Research Service (CRS) in this report accidents are the second leading cause of death for the military outside of combat recently. In the past it has been the leading. Now as reported in The Morning Call the U.S. is investing in a system to study auto accidents as part of the Synthetic Automotive Virtual Environments (SAVE) program. SimCraft will make the hardware for a state-of-the-art driving simulator. This program will also help reduce all auto accidents. This is an example of how the U.S. defense budget which is sometimes called too large spends on things that would not be directly related to combat ability. There is also a large spin off effect of these types of programs into the general economy.
