Horizon Airlines rubs decision in Pendleton, Ore.’s face – In an attempt to show “What Might Have Been,” Horizon Air, a division of Alaska Airlines, began direct flights from Pendleton, Ore. to Seattle, using a 76-seat Q400s. The new plane was an upgrade from the previous 37-seater previously flown from Portland. The commuter service disappears after only five weeks because the Pendleton City Councilchose to use a nine-seat plane to Portland. New Orleans still trying to recover from Hurricane Katrina and economy — New Orleans is still recovering from 2005’s Hurricane Katrina, only to be hit with something worse — the economy and its declining tourism dollar.
