BBDO's Robertson: "I Hate Twitter!" (And Belts, Apparently)
BBDO CEO Andrew Robertson’s video interview with DMNews contains an interesting piece of product placement for new-ish client Starbucks (see video below).
As the interview starts, there’s a barely noticeable paper cup on his desk at screen left. But halfway through, the video cuts abruptly, and the cup is front and center, prominently displaying a green Starbucks logo. Subtle!
Other tidbits dropped in the Q&A — which seemed to be more about touting the increasingly melded nature of BBDO and Proximity — include his opinion of a particular microblogging platform:
I hate Twitter!
Then he changed his mind in order not to offend social media types:
I’m a big fan of it because consumers are big fans of it. Because of that, it matters.
Robertson also wore a pair of black suspenders. In trying economic times like these, I asked a source if he also wore a belt at the same time. Here’s the scoop:
No, he never wears a belt with suspenders … rather, trousers tailored without beltloops.
